Reasonable travel and mileage is authorized for delivered engines. On vessels with multiple affected engines this service letter should be completed on all engines on the vessel on the same trip. Please reference the other engine serial numbers in the claim story.
No travel is authorized for engines that have not been delivered.
PARTS DISPOSITION
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure
For non-delivered engines in dealer inventory place one 352-3953 jacket water heater cord in the engines ship loose material for future installation.
For delivered engines install the 352-3953 jacket water heater cord on the engine. Connect the cord end labeled "THERMOSTAT" to the 356-2534 Thermostat Housing on the cylinder head and the cord end labeled "HEATER" to the Jacket Water Heater Element shown on the side of the engine in Image 1.1.1. Finally connect the cord to the vessels 120V or 240V system.
Note: Connection of a 120V element to a 240V system will result in damage to that element. Make sure to verify the required voltage for element prior to final connection.
