Removal Procedure
Disconnect any attachment tools from the quick coupler.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
High hydraulic system pressure. To avoid personal injury, do not remove any hydraulic system lines, taps, or parts until all pressure has been relieved.
Lower the lift arms to the ground.
Release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release".

Put wood blocks between tilt cylinders (1) and lift arms (2) in order to prevent movement of the tilt cylinders.

Remove bolt (3) and the clip.
Remove bolt (4) and the washer. Remove plate (5) .

Remove bolt (6), the washer, and the spacers. Remove pin assembly (7) .

Remove bolt (10) and plate (9) .
Remove inner plate (11) from pin assembly (8). The weight of inner plate (11) is approximately 17 kg (37 lb).

Remove bolt (13) and pin assembly (12) from outer plate (14). Remove outer plate (14) from the machine.Installation Procedure

Position outer plate (14) and install pin assembly (12). The weight of outer plate (14) is approximately 17 kg (37 lb). Install bolt (13) .

Install inner plate (11) onto pin (8). Install plate (9). Install bolt (10) .

Install pin assembly (7) through the plate into the lifting arms. Install bolt (6) .

Install plate (5) and bolt (4) to the inside of the plate.
Install the clip and bolt (3) .
