Remove bolts (4) and open grill assembly (5).
Remove the bolts, the washers, and panel (6).

Typical Example
Use Tooling (A) in order to rotate belt tensioner (8) and release the belt tension on belt (9).

Remove the cover and disconnect cable assembly (10).
Remove the cover and disconnect cable assembly (11).
Disconnect ground strap (12).

Remove bolts (14) and two bolts (15) (not shown). Remove alternator (13).

Remove bolts (16) and remove alternator guard assembly (17) from alternator (13). Installation Procedure
Install alternator (13) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten the nut for ground strap (12) to a torque of 4.4 1.0 N m (38.94 8.85 lb in).
Tighten the nut for cable assembly (10) to a torque of 18.2 2.4 N m (161.08 21.24 lb in).
Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Belts - Inspect/Adjust/Replace" for the correct belt tension.
