System Operation Description:Table 1 lists the diagnostic trouble codes for high intake manifold air temperature. Access the engine monitoring system on Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) in order to view the current trip points for these codes. Refer to Troubleshooting, "Engine Monitoring Parameters" for information about engine events.

105-0 Engine Intake Manifold #1 Temperature : High - most severe (3) The temperature of the intake air into the engine has risen above the programmed threshold for the specified delay time. The code is logged.
105-15 Engine Intake Manifold #1 Temperature : High - least severe (1)
105-16 Engine Intake Manifold #1 Temperature : High - moderate severity (2)
1131-15 Engine Intake Manifold #2 Temperature : High - least severe (1)
1131-16 Engine Intake Manifold #2 Temperature : High - moderate severity (2) Follow the troubleshooting procedure in order to identify the root cause of the problem.Test Step 1. Check for Active Codes
Establish communication between Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) and the ECM. Refer to Troubleshooting, "Electronic Service Tools" for details.
Download the "Product Summary Report" from the engine ECM before performing any troubleshooting or clearing diagnostic trouble codes.
Determine if an associated code is active or logged. Refer to Table 2 for a list of associated codes.

Check for active diagnostic codes that are related to a high intake manifold air temperature. Check for an active 105 code. Expected Result:No codes are active.Results:
OK - No codes are active at this time, but a high intake manifold air temperature exists for the engine. Proceed to Test Step 2.
Active 412 Code - A 412 code is active.Repair: Refer to Troubleshooting, "Diagnostic Trouble Codes" in order to troubleshoot the associated diagnostic code.STOP
Active 105 Code or 1131 Code - A 105 code or a 1131 code is active. There is a high intake manifold air temperature for the engine. Proceed to Test Step 2.Test Step 2. Check the Air To Air Aftercooler (ATAAC) for Restrictions (if equipped)
