(1) Oil seal. Put clean engine oil on the lip of the seal. Assemble with the lip toward the splined end of the pump shaft.(2) Ceramic ring and rubber water seal. a. Put clean water on the rubber seal and ceramic ring.b. Use the seal installation tool (part of the replacement seal assembly) and hand pressure to install the rubber seal and ceramic ring as a unit in the housing bore. Make sure the identification groove of the ceramic ring is installed inside rubber seal.(3) Seal Assembly: a. Remove the spring from the seal assembly.b. Put clean water inside the seal assembly.c. Use the seal installation tool (part of the replacement seal assembly) and hand pressure to install the seal assembly on the shaft until the face of carbon seal and ceramic ring make light contact with each other.d. Install the spring.(4) Torque for the bolt that holds the impeller ... 38 4 N m (28 3 lb.ft.)(5) Bore in the bearing (new) for auxiliary drive shaft ... 75.000 0.055 mm (2.9528 .0022 in) Diameter of auxiliary drive shaft (new) ... 74.900 0.015 mm (2.9488 .0006 in.)(6) Distance that bearing is installed from end of housing ... 1.5 0.5 mm (.06 .02 in.) Postion oil hole in bearing in alignment with oil hole in housing.
