(1) Guard.1. Fabricate two guards (1) to dimensions shown in chart. Make the guard from structural steel with a minimum yield strength of 207 MPa (30 000 psi) with a thickness of 9.5 mm (.37 in).

Weld guard (1) to guard (3), (see arrow) inside and outside. Inside: intermittent butt weld, four beams equally spaced. Outside: bevel groove weld, 4.0 mm (.16 in) grind flush.5. Weld guard (2) to guard (3), (see arrow) inside and outside. Inside: intermittent butt weld. Outside: bevel groove weld, 4.0 mm (.16 in) grind flush.6. Repeat Steps 3, 4, and 5 for the other side of the machine. Before installation of crankcase guard group with the additional guards, the nuts for plates (4) (without ripper) or drawbar assembly (5) (with ripper) must be welded at the rear of guard (3).
