For tractors that have not had SystemOne undercarriageinstalled, a 240-8871 Idler Arrangement-Hardware Kit is used to installthe SystemOne Center Tread Idlers. The 279-6534 Guard Group-Idler (LowerScrapers) is now required in addition to either the 240-8871 Idler Arrangement-HardwareKit, when Center Tread Idlers are installed. Clearly mark each 240-8871Idler Arrangement-Hardware Kit to indicate that a 279-6534 Guard Group-Idler(Lower Scrapers) is also required. Use Special Instructions REHS1610 toinstall the 240-8871 Idler Arrangement-Hardware Kit and Special InstructionsREHS2937 to install the 279-6534 Guard Group-Idler (Lower Scrapers).
***** Affected Product *****The new lower idler scrapers are now effectiveon tractors from the factory, equipped with SystemOne undercarriage andCenter Tread Idlers. This rework program is only applicable for :#1 - D6R Tractors from the factory equippedwith SystemOne undercarriage and Center Tread Idlers, prior to effectivityof the lower idler scrapers. Serial Number ranges for these tractors areincluded in the Affected Product list.Or#2 - D6H and D6R Tractors field retrofittedwith SystemOne undercarriage and Center Tread Idlers, that did not havethe lower idler scrapers installed.Not all tractors in categories #1 or #2, withSystemOne undercarriage and Center Tread Idlers, may need the additionallower idler scrapers. Only tractors operating in certain field conditionsmay require the lower scrapers to be installed. A Special Instruction (REHS3086)is available to further explain which field conditions will require installationof the lower scrapers. Refer to these recommendations before installingthe lower scrapers on a field machine. This Program does not apply to tractorsupgraded to SystemOne undercarriage and center Tread Idlers after the dateof this Service Letter. Refer to Special Instructions REHS2937 to installthe lower scrapers.
