***** Parts Stock *****For standard tractors that have not had SystemOneundercarriage installed, a 240-8872 Idler Arrangement-Hardware Kit is usedto install the SystemOne Center Tread Idlers. For LGP tractors that havenot had SystemOne undercarriage installed, a 240-8870 Idler Arrangement-HardwareKit is used to install the SystemOne Center Tread Idlers. The 279-6533Guard Group-Idler (Lower Scrapers) is now required in addition to eitherthe 240-8872 or 240-8870 Idler Arrangement-Hardware Kit, when Center TreadIdlers are installed. Clearly mark each 240-8870 and 240-8872 Idler Arrangement-HardwareKit to indicate that a 279-6533 Guard Group-Idler (Lower Scrapers) is alsorequired. Use Special Instructions REHS1610 to install the 240-8872 or240-8870 Idler Arrangement-Hardware Kit and Special Instructions REHS2937to install the 279-6535 Guard Group-Idler (Lower Scrapers).
***** Affected Product *****The new lower idler scrapers are now effectiveon tractors from the factory, equipped with SystemOne undercarriage andCenter Tread Idlers. This rework program is only applicable for :#1 - D6R Tractors from the factory equippedwith SystemOne undercarriage and Center Tread Idlers, prior to effectivityof the lower idler scrapers. Serial Number ranges for these tractors areincluded in the Affected Product list.Or#2 - D6H and D6R Tractors field retrofittedwith SystemOne undercarriage and Center Tread Idlers, that did not havethe lower idler scrapers installed. The rework procedure to install thelower scrapers will not work for D6H Tractors that are not equipped withend track guiding guards that accept Heavy Duty or rotating Bushing Track.Not all tractors in categories #1 or #2, withSystemOne undercarriage and Center Tread Idlers, may need the additionallower idler scrapers. Only tractors operating in certain field conditionsmay require the lower scrapers to be installed. A Special Instruction (REHS3086)is available to further explain which field conditions will require installationof the lower scrapers. Refer to these recommendations before installingthe lower scrapers on a field machine. This Program does not apply to tractorsupgraded to SystemOne undercarriage and center Tread Idlers after the dateof this Service Letter. Refer to Special Instructions REHS2937 to installthe lower scrapers.
