8T9205 Puller Plate For Pulling Spindle From Front Suspension Cylinder
This plate is similar to the 8T2852 Puller Plate for the 785 Trucks. The 8T9205 Puller Plate is for pulling the front axle (spindle) from the suspension cylinder strut. It has a capacity of 6470 kN (727 tons) force. Use the 8T2853 Handle Assembly to hold either of these plates in position.
The Warning for the 785 Truck also applies to the 789 Truck when the front axle is removed from the strut, and is a follows:
To avoid possible personal injury from sudden release of the axle from the strut rod or the snapping of a bolt when removing the retaining plate, loosen all bolts in a circular pattern one-half turn. Do this again and again until the torque for the bolts is released.
8T5293 Puller Plate For Pulling Gland And Tube From Front Suspension Cylinder
This plate is similar to the 8T5271 Puller for 785 Trucks, and is to be used when the gland and/or tube need to be pulled out of the front suspension cylinder. If preferred, a fabricated tool, FT2208, can be made and used in place of the 8T5293 Puller Plate.
Refer to Service Manual for the complete procedure on trouble shooting and repairs to the suspension cylinders. Use an FT1939 Plate to support the cylinder strut.
