Speed Sensor (1) Speed sensor. (2) Locknut. (A) Air gap.
Remove the speed sensor. Align a gear tooth directly in the center of the threaded sensor opening.
Screw the sensor into the hole until the end of the sensor contacts the gear tooth. Use only hand pressure when you are installing the sensor.
Unscrew the sensor (two-thirds of a turn). Two-thirds of a turn is 240°. This sets the air gap (A) to 0.89 mm (0.035 inch).
Tighten the locknut (2) :
Machine speed sensor 13 1 N m (115 9 lb in)
Engine speed sensor 25 5 N m (220 45 lb in)Note: Do not allow the sensor to turn as the locknut is tightened.
