Installation Procedure
If reworking the existing guard, use all of the following steps. If using the new guards (3) and (4), begin the procedure with Step 1 then skip to Step 7.
Illustration 1. Front View of Roller Frame (Left Side Shown). Location of Existing Guards. (F) Reference corner for Illustration 4.1. Remove the existing guards from the left or right side of the machine. Keep mounting hardware for later use.
Illustration 2. View A-A. (A) Existing slots. (B) Additional slots. 2. On the inboard side of the guard, add two slots (B). The new slots should be positioned 20 mm (.79 in) directly to the right of the former slots. See Illustration 2 and Chart B for dimensions.
Illustration 3. (D) Point D. (E) Point E. See Chart B for dimensions. (V) Existing profile.3. On the same side nearest the drive wheel, draw a line from point (D) to point (E) on the guard as shown in Illustration 3.4. Trim the guard by removing the material outside the line drawn in Step 3.
Illustration 4. (J) Clearance notch. See Chart B for dimensions. (A) Existing slots. (F) Location marked in Illustration 1.5. On the outboard side of the guard, add five slots of size (B) as shown in Illustration 4.6. On the same side nearest the drive wheel, trim a clearance notch of depth (I) in the guard. The notch extends from the end of the guard to dimension (N) from the existing slots (A). See Illustration 4.
Illustration 5.
Illustration 6. View C-C (See Illustration 5). (T) Holes. See Chart B for dimensions.7. Drill two holes (T) in the roller frame. See Illustration 5 for the location on the machine and Illustration 6 for dimensional information. It may be difficult to drill holes (T) as clearance is tight.8. Install scraper (7) using bolts (9), washers (10), and nuts (11). See Illustration 5.9. Install reworked guard or new guard (3) or (4) into the correct slots with the existing hardware removed in Step 1. See Illustration 1.10. Install bumper (8) into guard assembly (1) or (2).
Illustration 7. Position of guard assembly. See Chart B for dimensions.11. Install guard assembly (1) or (2) using bolts (5) and washers (6). See Illustration 1. Use Illustration 7 to correctly position the guard assembly (1) to dimension (U). This dimension is critical for proper function. Dimension (U) is the distance from this surface to the outer edge of the drive wheel.12. Repeat the procedure for the other side of the machine.
