Description of Change: The new cylinder block and flywheel housing have four additional bolt holes. The four additional bolts provide a more secure joint at the rear of the engine.The engine crankshaft position sensor was relocated in order to accommodate the new bolts. There is a new bracket for the sensor and a new cover for the sensor connector.The new cylinder block is also used in new production machine engines. The machine engines have an additional oil port that is not needed on stationary engines. For that reason, the stationary engines have another new cover that is different from the machine engines.Adaptable To: The new cylinder block and flywheel housing are only used for newer production engines. The new cylinder block and flywheel housing are not adaptable to previously built engines.All of the parts associated with the new cylinder block are listed in Table 1.

Locations of four additional bolt holes in the cylinder blockThe new 370-4041 Cylinder Block is now used for production engines instead of the original 342-7301 Cylinder Block .The new 370-8624 Housing As is now used for production engines instead of the original 342-7286 Flywheel Housing.

(1) 371-0574 Bracket As (2) 368-3882 Cover The new 371-0574 Bracket As (1) and 368-3882 Cover (2) are also used with the new housing. The bracket holds the crankshaft position sensor inside the rear housing. The sensor connector protrudes from the cover.The new bracket and cover are parts of the 247-1893 Speed Sensor Gp.
