988B ONLY1. Remove left front handrail (1) from platform on the 988B only.2. Remove nut (2) from the center hinge on the cab door.3. Open the cab door so it will clear the Roll-Over Protective Structure.
988B SHOWN4. Fasten a hoist, lift door (3) from the hinges and remove it from the machine. Weight of door is 98 lb. (44 kg). 5. Remove three screws and lockwashers (4).6. Remove cover (5). 7. Remove bolts and washers (9) and remove plate (7) and shims.8. Remove nut (8) and striker assembly (6).Install Cab Door And Striker
1. Fasten a hoist to the door and lift it up to the hinges. Lower the door on to the cab hinges. 2. Remove the hoist and install nut (1) on the center hinge.
998B ONLY3. Install handrail (2) with four bolts and washers (3) on the 988B only. 4. Install striker assembly (5) into plate (6) and install nut (4) to the striker assembly. 5. Install shims (7) and plate (8) with two bolts and lockwashers.6. Adjustments to the striker and plate can be made as follows: a) To make a forward or backward adjustment of plate (8), install or remove shims (7). This adjustment is done with the door in a position next to the striker so the point where the latch will hit the striker can be seen.b) The striker plate can also be moved right or left for adjustment if the door is too tight or too loose when closed.c) The third adjustment is made with a check of the striker. It can be loosened and moved up or down if the door does not close or if it is difficult to close.7. Install the cover over the plate with three screws and lockwashers to hold it.
