Place a suitable container under filter element (1) in order to catch any oil that may leak when the filter is removed.
Remove filter element (1) .
Clean the filter base. All of the oil seal must be removed.
Apply a thin coat of clean hydraulic oil to the seal of the new filter element.
Install a new filter element by hand. When the gasket contacts the filter base, turn the filter by 270 degrees more. This will tighten the filter sufficiently.Note: Every new filter has rotation index marks that are spaced at 90 degree increments. Use the rotation index marks as a guide for tightening the oil filter.
Dispose of the spilled oil in a proper manner. Dispose of the oil filter element in a proper manner.
After the element is changed, start the engine. Check the level of the hydraulic oil. If the hydraulic oil is low, add the proper amount of hydraulic oil.
