3208 Engines (90N37285-up, 75V4113-up, 32Y1-up)Description of Change: The 9N3979 Nozzle Assemblies (Fuel Injection) used in the above 3208 Engines have different washers than the earlier 9L6969 Nozzle Assemblies. The thickness of these washers controls the depth of the fuel injection nozzles in the cylinder head, and the relation of the nozzle tips to the combustion chambers. For this reason, it is important that the correct washers be used when nozzle assemblies are installed. The 5P9392 Valve Grinding Gasket Kit has only the 9L9099 Washers for use with the earlier 9L6969 Nozzle Assemblies. These washers must not be used with the later 9N3979 Nozzle Assemblies. To use a 5P9392 Gasket Kit with the above 3208 Engines, use eight 9N3738 Washers in place of the 9L9099 Washers.
Adaptable To: With the addition of eight 9N3738 Washers, the 5P9392 Gasket Kit (Valve Grinding) is directly adaptable to all 3208 Engines. The chart shows the correct part numbers of washers to use with earlier and later nozzle assemblies, including washer thickness and color identification.
