Information:
Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.
Lubricate all components with the lubricant that is being sealed on assembly of the gear motor.

Use tool (B) and install seal (28) into flange (23). Use tool (A) and install ring (27). Use tool (B) and install seal (26) .

Place flange (23) on suitable cribbing. Install two dowels (25) into the flange.

Install seal (24) into housing (3) .

Align housing (3) with flange (23). Make sure that the housing is correctly located on the dowels. Carefully install pressure plate (22) into housing (3). Refer to step 9 for the installation of the backup seal into the pressure plate.

Install gear (21) into housing (3) and through the seals that are located in the flange.

Install idler gear (20) into housing (3) .

Install backup seal (19) into pressure plate (18) .

Carefully install pressure plate (18) into housing (3). Install seal (17) and two dowels (16) .

Install O-ring seal (15) onto plug (7). Install O-ring seal (14) with the backup ring and O-ring seal (13) onto relief valve (8). Install O-ring seal (12) onto plug (5). Install O-ring seal (11) with the backup ring and O-ring seal (10) onto check valve (6). Install O-ring seal (9) onto elbow (4) .

Install plug (7) into valve body (2) and tighten the plug to 12 1 N m (8.8 1 lb ft). Install relief valve (8) and tighten the relief valve to 30 3 N m (22 2 lb ft).

Install check valve (6) into valve body (2) and tighten the check valve to 30 3 N m (22 2 lb ft). Install plug (5) and tighten the plug to 12 1 N m (8.8 1 lb ft). Install elbow (4) .

Align valve body (2) with dowels in housing (3) before installing four bolts (1). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 55 3 N m (40.5 2.2 lb ft).End By: Install the gear motor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Aftercooler, Fan, and Gear Motor (Hydraulic Fan) - Install".
