Remove Exhaust Manifold (3412 Watercooled)
1. Drain the coolant below the level of the exhaust manifold.2. Remove all nuts and bolts (1) that hold electrical box (2). Disconnect the ground wires and lower the electrical box out of the way. 3. Loosen hose clamp (3) on the air cleaner. 4. Remove all nuts and bolts that hold air cleaner housing to its mounting bracket. Remove air cleaner housing (4). 5. Remove bolt (5) holding brace (6) to the mounting bracket. 6. Remove bolts (7) holding plate (8) to the flywheel housing. 7. Remove bolt (10) and nut holding brace (9) to the mounting bracket. 8. Remove bolts (12) to remove air cleaner bracket (11) to the flywheel housing. 9. Remove fumes disposal tube (13) and regulator tube (14). 10. Remove bolts (16) that hold elbow (15) to the exhaust manifold. 11. Remove bolts (17) and elbow (18). 12. Fasten straps and a hoist to the exhaust manifold. Remove nuts (19) and remove exhaust manifold (20). Weight is 27 kg (60 lb.).Install Exhaust Manifold (3412 Watercooled)
1. Put 5P3931 Anti-Seize Compound on the manifold studs. Install gaskets (2). Install exhaust manifold (1). Make sure the gaskets are in position between the exhaust manifold and the cylinder head.2. Install the spacers, the washers and nuts that hold the exhaust manifold in place. Tighten the nuts in numerical sequence to a torque of 52 7 N m (38 6 lb.ft.). See inset for torque sequence. 3. Install elbow (4) with bolts (3). 4. Install elbow (5) on exhaust manifold with bolts (6). 5. Install fumes disposal tube (7) and regulator tube (8). 6. Install air cleaner bracket (9) to the flywheel housing with bolts (10). 7. Install brace (11) on air cleaner bracket with bolt (12). 8. Install bolts (13) holding plate (14) to the flywheel housing. 9. Install bolt (15) that holds brace (16) to the air cleaner bracket. 10. Put air cleaner housing (17) in position on the mounting bracket with the bolts (18) that hold it. 11. Tighten hose clamp (19) on the air cleaner. 12. Install electrical box (20) with the nuts and bolts that hold it.13. Fill the engine with the correct amount of coolant. See the Maintenance Guide.
