Component Code(s) 1408, 7051SUBJECT: POWER STUD MAY NOT BE ADEQUATELY COVERED TO PREVENT SHOCK HAZARD
PROBLEM:
The red boot that is used to cover the relay panel power stud may not be properly secured in place. As a result, the red boot may become repositioned and the power stud may become exposed, presenting a shock hazard.
SOLUTION:
During pre-delivery, inspect machines for proper installation of the 8T-8799 Boot (Red). The red boot should be installed on the power lead and positioned to cover the power stud, lug(s), and nut. The red boot should be secured in place with a cable strap.
If necessary, reposition the red boot to cover the power stud, lug(s) and nut. Then, install a cable strap to secure the red boot in place, as shown. See Figure A and Figure B.
