Information:


Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire. To help prevent possible injury, turn the start switch off when changing fuel filters or water separator elements. Clean up fuel spills immediately.
Use a suitable container to catch any fuel that might spill. Clean up any spilled fuel immediately.
Do not allow dirt to enter the fuel system. Thoroughly clean the area around a fuel system component that will be disconnected. Fit a suitable cover over disconnected fuel system component.
Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Access Doors and Covers" for the location of the service points.
Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
Fill the fuel tanks with clean diesel fuel.
Loosen bolt (2) by three full turns. Do not remove bolt (2) .

Unlock priming pump plunger (1) by turning priming pump plunger (1) counterclockwise and pull out priming pump plunger (1) .
Operate the priming pump in order to fill the primary fuel filter and the secondary fuel filter until fuel appears at the threads of bolt (2). Tighten bolt (2) .Note: Failure to tighten all fittings could result in serious fuel leaks.
Clean any residual fuel from the engine compartment.Note: Discard any drained fluids according to local regulations.
Continue to operate the priming pump until the pump resists operation and the check valve makes an audible click. This indicates that the fuel filters are full of fuel and that the fuel system is pressurized.
Lock priming pump plunger (1) by turning the priming pump plunger clockwise.
Start the engine. Look for leaks around the primary fuel filter and the secondary fuel filter. If the engine starts but the engine runs rough, continue to operate the engine at low idle until the engine runs smoothly.Note: If the engine will not start, repeat Step 3 through Step 9. If the engine starts but the engine continues to misfire or smoke, repeat Step 3 through Step 9.
Close the engine access doors.
