preparatory step: a) remove oil pan plate1. Rotate crankshaft to make connecting rod cap accessible.2. Remove connecting rod cap retaining nuts.3. Remove connecting rod cap.4. Remove bearing from rod and cap.5. Clean crankshaft bearing journal. 6. Measure crankshaft journal diameter. Journal diameter must be 3.5400 .0005 in. (89,916 0,013 mm). Out of roundness must not exceed .003 in. (0,076 mm).7. Install upper half of bearing in connecting rod.8. Install lower half of bearing in cap.9. Place 5B1161 Wire across bearing. 10. Install connecting rod cap, bearing, and wire. Don't install cap backwards! Bearing locating tangs must be on same side of connecting rod. Lubricate bolt threads with engine oil and tighten nuts to 50 5 lb. ft. (6,9 0,7 mkg) plus 180°.11. Remove connecting rod cap. 12. Remove wire from bearing and measure the wire thickness. The wire thickness (bearing clearance) should be .0029 to .0060 in. (0,094 to 0,152 mm) and must not exceed .010 in. (0,25 mm).13. Lubricate bearing with engine oil and install connecting rod cap. Tighten retaining nuts as before.concluding step: a) install oil pan plate
