Procedure To Install Stronger Right Side Rear View Mirror Mounting Brackets
1. Fabricate two right side rear view mirror mounting brackets (A). Use 8.0 mm (.31") thick structural steel with a minimum tensile strength of 430 N/mm2 (62 349 psi), and a minimum yield strength of 255 N/mm2 (36 974 psi). See Illustration 1.

Illustration 2. Location of mounting components for right side rear view mirror.3. Cut the existing mirror mounting brackets (located on the hand rail). See Illustration 3. Grind the area smooth and remove paint from the areas where the new brackets are to be installed.
Illustration 3. Location to cut existing mirror mounting brackets.4. Use AWS E7018 electrode or an equivalent to weld fabricated brackets (A) to the hand rail. The fabricated brackets (A) are welded to the remainder of the former brackets. See Illustration 4.
