Position the track so that the master pin is above the center line of the sprocket or idler.
Stop the machine and release the track tension. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Track - Adjust".
Illustration 1 g01167154Note: In order to provide additional clearance for the removal of the master pin, remove track shoe (2) on each side of master pin.
Use Tooling (A) to support track shoe (2). The weight of track shoe (2) is approximately 34 kg (75 lb). Remove bolts (1) and track shoe (2).

Remove cotter pin (3) from pin (4).

In order to prevent the track from sliding off the roller frame, place Tooling (B) on opposite ends of the track.

Remove pin (4) and carefully lower the track assembly to the ground. Note: If the track does not separate use Special Instruction, SMHS6954, "Track Disassembly" for an alternative method.
