Cab Electrical System: This diagram of the Cab Electronic Control System shows the input components and output components of the Machine ECM. The Machine ECM (1) receives and sends information to/from the machine ECMs (2) - (5), Message Display (6), Keypad Switches (34), Relay Driver Module (35), or Cat ET over the Cat Data Link (CDL) or Controller Area Network (CAN A or CAN B) Data Links (7).Machine ECM Inputs:Left-hand steering control (8): The left-hand steering control provides an input to the Machine ECM. The control has three position sensors that the Machine ECM monitors to determine the correct articulation angle of the machine. Key start switch (9): Input to the Machine ECM signaling the ECM to power ON. The keyswitch is powered through the switched lower fuse base on the left column, fuse G-18.Fuel level sender (10): Sends a signal to the Machine ECM indicating the fuel level. The fuel level sender produces an analog signal that is powered by system voltage.The following table shows the empty stop and full stop values of the Fuel level sender. The operating range will be anywhere between these parameters.

The hydraulic oil temperature sensor produces an analog signal. The resistance range for this sensor is 33,650 ohms at −40° C (−40° F) to 18.6 ohms at 150 ° C (302° F). Brake accumulator pressure sensor (12): An input to the ECM that provides the pressure in the brake accumulators. The Brake Accumulator Pressure Sensor provides an analog voltage input signal to the Machine ECM. The Machine ECM 5 VDC power supply is used to power the sensor.Left armrest switch (13): An input to the ECM that indicates of the left armrest is in the stowed position. The armrest switch provides two switch-to-ground inputs. One input goes to the Implement ECM and the other goes to the Machine ECM.Left steer cylinder position sensor (14): Signals the ECM the position of the rod in the steering cylinder. The left steering cylinder position sensor is powered by the Machine ECM 8 VDC sensor power supply. A PWM duty cycle signal is produced that is proportional to cylinder rod position.
