Use rasp (6) or rasp (7) in order to grind out cracks. Grind edges of the damaged area to a 45 degree angle. See Illustration 1.Note: Make sure that you remove all of the cracks in the rubber.
Use Grinder (1) and Wire Wheel (2) in order to clean the exposed zero degree cables.
Separate the frayed ends of the cable so that ends do not rub after the repair is completed.
If any zero degree cables are frayed, use Grinder (1) and Grinding Stone (9) in order to remove the frayed ends.
Use grinder (1) and wire wheel (2) in order to buff the surface of the rubber. The resulting rubber should be dark black. Use cleanser pad (4) in order to reach difficult areas.
Clean the damaged area with brake cleaner (5) or clean the damaged area with an equivalent degreaser. Wipe the damaged area with a clean lint free tissue.Note: Do not touch the prepared surface after you complete Step 9.
Spray brake cleaner (5) or an equivalent degreaser onto the damaged area. Allow the fluid to evaporate.
Proper cleaning of the damaged area is essential for proper bonding. Improper cleaning will result in poor adhesion and short service life.
Use a brush in order to apply Conditioner (12). Allow the conditioner to evaporate. Make sure that the conditioner covers the entire damaged area.Note: Apply the repair material within 1 hour after you apply the conditioner.Application of Repair Material
Empty the entire contents of the elastomer into the provided bowl.
Shake the solidifier. Then, pour the entire contents of the solidifier over the elastomer.Note: After you open the elastomer and the solidifier, mix the entire contents right away. Use all of the elastomer and the solidifier in order to obtain the correct mixture ratio. Discard any repair material that was not used for the repair.
Immediately mix the fluids for at least 2 minutes. Then, allow the mixture to stand until the mixture gels. Do not mix the material after this stage. Use all of the material within the times that are shown in Table 3.

( 1 ) The time starts when you start mixing the compound.
Use the plastic spatula in order to apply the thick material into the damaged area. Use the plastic applicator in order to shape the repair material. If large pieces of rubber are separated, clamp the pieces together. If the damaged area is on the edge of the belt, use a piece of clean cardboard to keep the material on the belt.Note: Do not use your hands to handle the repair material.
Immediately clean the mixing tools and the application tools with a clean, nonflammable solvent.
