When evaluating the position of the bucket as the control lever returns from the tilt back detent, engine speed must be set at high idle. After the tilt control lever kicks out of the tilt back detent position, the bucket should be at a level position after the bucket is lowered to the ground. Engine speed must be set at high idle in order to produce repeatable test results for this procedure. The response of the implement hydraulics is affected when the engine speed is held at a lower rpm. The change in the hydraulic response due to a lower rpm can determine if the bucket returns to a level position at ground line.Note: Ride control (if equipped) should be turned off before the evaluation of the tilt kickout and bucket position. The factory test for the implement and bucket hydraulic controls instructs the factory technician to perform the following tasks.
Raise the lift arm and the bucket to top of travel.
Push the tilt lever forward in order to dump the bucket, and pull the tilt lever rearward to the tilt back detent position.
When the bucket reaches a level position, the tilt lever must kick out of the detent. The tilt lever then returns to the neutral position.
The tilt kickout must be adjusted in order to return the bucket to a level position at ground line with the engine at high idle.Reference: For more information on adjusting the tilt kickout, refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Work Tool Positioner-Adjust" for the machine that is being serviced.
