Use Tooling (E) and a suitable lifting device in order to install torque converter (5). The weight of torque converter (5) is approximately 125 kg (275 lb). Note: Ensure that the torque converter adapter is clean. Apply a thin film of clean transmission oil onto the torque converter adapter. Ensure that the splines are aligned. Gently install torque converter (5).

Install bolt (4). Tighten bolt (4) to a torque of 285 15 N m (210 11 lb ft).
Install plug (3). Tighten plug (3) to a torque of 285 15 N m (210 11 lb ft).

Use Tooling (D) in order to position the transmission horizontally. Attach Tooling (B), Tooling (C), and a suitable lifting device onto transmission and torque converter (2). The weight of transmission and torque converter (2) is approximately 544 kg (1200 lb). The weight of transmission and torque converter (2) with a retarder is approximately 590 kg (1300 lb).
Remove transmission and torque converter (2) from Tooling (D).

Remove Tooling (A) from the transmission housing.

Install bracket (1).
