Introduction
This special instruction provides the necessary information in order to install a new cover for the water pump on Paving Compactors.Procedure to Install the Cover for the Water Pump
Articulate the machine to the left in order to provide access to the water pumps.
Raise the front of the compactor approximately 100 mm (4 inch). Block the drums.
Lock out the compactor. Tag the compactor in order to prevent starting the engine.
Remove the water pumps. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Water Spray Pump - Remove" for the correct procedure.

(1) Hose assemblies
Tie back harness assemblies (1) .
Cap the hose assemblies.

(2) Holes (A) 11 mm (.43 inch) diameter (B) 286.4 mm (11.27 inch) (C) 478.4 mm (18.83 inch) (D) 18 mm (.71 inch)
Drill two holes (2) in the side frame. Refer to Illustration 3 for the correct dimensions.

(3) Holes (E) 49 mm (1.9 inch) (F) 189 mm (7.4 inch) (G) 329 mm (12.9 inch) (H) 13.5 mm (.53 inch) (J) 6.8 mm (.27 inch) diameter (K) M8 x1.25 thread
Drill and tap three holes (3) in the mounting plate for the water pumps. Refer to Illustration 3 for the correct dimensions.
Install the water pumps.

(4) Clip (5) Deutsch clips
Secure the harness assemblies to existing clip (4) and Deutsch clips (5) .

(6) Cover assembly (7) Bolts (8) Hard washers
Install 326-4987 Cover As (6), 8T-4200 Bolts (7), and 5P-4116 Hard Washers (8) to the mounting plate for the pump. Tighten bolts (7) to a torque of 28 7 N m (20 5 lb ft).

(6) Cover assembly (8) Hard washers (9) Bolts
Secure cover assembly (6) to the frame side plate with 8T-4908 Bolts (9) and 5P-4116 Hard Washers (8). Tighten bolts (9) to a torque of 28 7 N m (20 5 lb ft).
