Information:
- Type of GPS solution (accuracy) that indicates the lowest precision available. Seen when correction information from the Reference station is not available due to faulty reference station receiver or radio network. 10 - 50 Meters accuracy.Base - Used to refer to the GPS reference station that is being used to broadcast additional satellite and position information to the machine systems for calculating accurate dynamic positions. Base and Reference Station are used synonymously.CAES (Computer Aided Earthmoving System) - The portion of the Mining and Earthmoving Technology Systems dealing both with the on-board and the off-board systems. The on-board CAES system consists of a GPS receiver and antenna, CAES computing hardware and software, a daylight readable display screen, and a wireless communications subsystem. These systems utilize GPS data together with dynamic site database technology and wireless data transfer to provide machine operators and site managers with a variety of continuously updated information regarding the execution of the earthmoving task.".CAT" files are used by CAES to show or display information to the operator. The four types of files are:
DE or ED - Design Elevation
UE or CE- Update Elevation
OG - Original Ground
UC - Update CompactionCDM (CAES Display Module) - The CAES module containing computer electronics, the display, and the disk driveCID (Component Identifier) - Used by diagnostics to indicate which component is suspected to be faultyCFP (Compact File Portion) - A compressed message being sent to the Machine or received from the machineCMR (Compact Measurement Record - GPS correction information that is being sent from the reference stationDGPS (Differential GPS) - Type of GPS solution (accuracy) that indicates low to moderate precision available. (Seen during brief periods of no correction information from reference station or during periods of high PDOP.) 5-15 MetersEID (Event Identifier) - Used by diagnostics to indicate a system event for troubleshootingENG (Engineering) - Error used by diagnostics to indicate a problem with software operationCat ET (Caterpillar Electronic Technician) - The Caterpillar PC program used by dealers to support Caterpillar productsFIXED - GPS solution (accuracy) that indicates the highest precision available. (Normal mode.) .01-.03 MetersFLOAT - Type of GPS solution (accuracy) that indicates that the GPS receiver is searching for satellites and is determining the receiver's current position. Seen during start-up mode or when satellites have been block from view temporarily.FP (File Portion) - Term used in the communications to indicate a small portion of a complete file that is being transferred to or from the MachineFMI (Failure Mode Indicator) - Number that represents a specific type of failure for troubleshooting systems problemsGPS (Global Positioning System) - A worldwide radio-navigation system formed from a constellation of 24 satellites and their ground stationsGSOF (General Serial Output Format) - The file type that contains GPS information in a specific Trimble proprietary format used during logging of GPS data with CAESMETS (Mining and Earthmoving Technology Systems) - The technology systems developed by Caterpillar Inc. and Trimble Navigation, Ltd, for mining and earthmoving applicationsMETSmanager - The Mining and Earthmoving Technology Systems Office Software
