Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause serious injury to persons on or near the machine.To prevent possible injury, perform the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the hydraulic system.
Disconnect any implements from the machine. Move the machine to a smooth horizontal surface. Move away from other machines and personnel.
Permit only one operator on the machine. Keep all other personnel away from the machine.

Stop the engine and remove the key.

(1) Plug (2) Adjusting screw
Remove plug (1) from the steering control.Note: The steering control can be accessed between the cab and the fuel tank.

(3) Nipple assembly
Install nipple assembly (3) onto the steering control.
Nipple assembly (3) is a 6V-3965 Nipple Assembly .
Install the 6V-3989 Unvalved Nipple onto the 8T-0855 Pressure Gauge .
The 8T-0855 Pressure Gauge is a 0 to 4000 kPa (0 to 580 psi) pressure gauge.

Use an elbow and a hose to connect pressure gauge (4) to nipple assembly (3) .
Move pressure gauge (4) into the cab.
Start the engine. Run the engine at high idle.
Warm the oil to 60 °C (140 °F). At least two segments should be visible on the bargraph for hydraulic oil temperature.
Apply the service brakes. Rotate the steering wheel to the FULL RIGHT TURN position.
The reduced pressure from the steering control should be a minimum of 1400 120 kPa (203 17 psi).
Apply the service brakes. Rotate the steering wheel to the FULL LEFT TURN position.
The reduced pressure from the steering control should be approximately 1400 120 kPa (203 17 psi).
