Procedure to Install the Speed Sensor
Use a small screwdriver in order to pry adjustable cap (1) until the adjustable cap is completely extended. This distance will be approximately 6.5 mm (.25 inch). Use the slots that are provided in the sides of the adjustable cap in order to extend the adjustable cap.
Tighten the speed sensor into the sensor housing. Tighten the transmission speed sensor to a torque of 25 5 N m (18 4 lb ft).
When the speed sensor is tightened to the proper torque, adjustable cap (1) contacts the gear. At this time, the adjustable cap slides back into the body of the speed sensor. The air gap between the adjustable cap and the gear is achieved by runout in the gear. No other adjustments are required.
