Install the O-ring seal into the groove of the lower housing.
Install the aftercooler onto the lower housing.
Install the O-ring seal into the flange of the aftercooler.
Insert the bolts in order to align the following items: lower housing, aftercooler core and aftercooler cover. Hand tighten the bolts on the corners of the cover in order to compress the O-ring seal.
Install the adapter fitting for the aftercooler water line. Install the adapter for the vent line connection. Ensure that the respective O-ring seals are in place.
Hand tighten the bolts for the vent line connection in order to retain the O-ring face seal. Note: For steps 7 through 8, refer to Illustration 3.
Tighten the bolts according to the numerical sequence to the following torque. Torque ... 24 N m (18 lb ft)
Tighten the bolts again according to the numerical sequence to the following torque. Torque ... 47 N m (35 lb ft)
Tighten the bolts for the vent line connection. Tighten the bolts for the adapter fitting for the aftercooler water line.
Install the lower housing onto the intake manifold. Apply 1U-8846 Gasket Sealant onto the intake manifold in order to form a gasket. Note: For steps 11 through 12, refer to Illustration 2.
Tighten the bolts according to the numerical sequence to the following torque. Torque ... 24 N m (18 lb ft)
Tighten the bolts again according to the numerical sequence to the following torque. Torque ... 47 N m (35 lb ft)
