   Start By:
Remove the hood. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Title - Hood Remove and Install".

Attach Tooling (A) to the rear of the engine. Attach a suitable hoist to Tooling (A) .

Remove wire tie-wraps (1) that secure wires (2) to clips (6). Move wires aside.
Remove two bolts (3). Attach a suitable nylon strap to pump (4). Remove pump (4) from the adapter plate and the flange.Note: Do not remove any of the hydraulic hoses from the hydraulic pump. Move the hydraulic pump to the side as far as possible.

Remove two rear engine mount bolts (5) and the rubber washers (6) .

Raise the rear of the engine with Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device.

The engine was removed for photographic purposes.
Remove seven bolts (9) and the washers that secure adapter plate (8) to the engine.
Remove five clips (7) and five bolts (9) from the top of the adapter plate. Note the location of clips (7) for installation purposes.
Attach a suitable lifting device to the lifting eye of adapter plate (8). Remove adapter plate (8) from the engine. The weight of adapter plate (8) is 34 kg (75 lb).

Remove eight bolts (10) that secure flange (11) to the engine. Remove flange (11) from the engine.

Loosen allen head screw (13) and remove coupling hub (12) from the spline of hydrostatic pumps (4) .
