Reference: Parts Manual, SEBP2264, Part number 118-2821 Fuel Injection Lines Group Description of Change: A new fuel filter base assembly is now used in the fuel injection lines group for right hand service engines. The new fuel filter base assembly has a larger surface area that contacts the seal of the fuel filter. This improvement creates a better seal between the fuel filter and the fuel filter base assembly.Adaptable To: The new 128-8557 Fuel Filter Base Assembly is a direct replacement for the former 7C-0318 Fuel Filter Base Assembly in the 118-2821 Fuel Injection Lines Group. The new 128-8557 Fuel Filter Base Assembly is effective with 3176C S/N:6BW00463-UP
and 3196 PIN: 2XR01926-UP
. Any engine prior to the engines that are listed can be converted.The former 7C-0318 Fuel Filter Base Assembly that is used on right hand service engine can be converted to the new 128-8557 Fuel Filter Base Assembly. See the following conversion procedure.Conversion Procedure

( 1 ) The 128-8557 Filter Base Assembly is composed of part number 127-0291 Base Assembly and the part number 7E-5346 Valve Assembly .The table and the illustration identifies the parts that are required in order to convert your right hand serviced engine to the new 128-8557 Fuel Filter Base Assembly .
Remove the fuel filter.
Disconnect the two hose assemblies from the fuel filter base assembly. Cap the hoses immediately.
Disconnect the fuel pressure sensor. (If equipped)
Remove the two bolts and the washers that hold the fuel filter base assembly in position. Remove fuel filter base assembly.
If it is necessary remove the fuel priming pump from the fuel filter base assembly.
If it is necessary remove the mounting stud for the fuel filter from the fuel filter base assembly.Use the following procedure in order to install the new fuel filter base Assembly:
If the stud for the fuel filter was removed from the fuel filter base assembly, reinstall the stud. Use 9S-3263 Thread Lock Compound on the tapered end of the stud to a
