Read the pitch of the machine.Observe the digital level from the right side of the machine. The back of the machine should be on your left and the front of the machine should be on your right. The digital level should be in front of you. Refer to Illustration 13.
Illustration 14 g03382665
Read the roll of the machine.Observe the digital level from the front of the machine. The digital level should be in front of you as you look towards the back of the machine. Refer to Illustration 14.Measuring the Sensor Offset
Menu - Opens the main menu
Ensure that a new mach_cfg.txt file has been created in the office, sent to the machine, and activated.
Move the machine onto a level surface or level the machine, if possible.
Open the "Sensor Values" window by opening the main menu, and selecting "Diagnostics" > "Sensors".

"Sensor Values" window
Locate the "Pitch" and "Roll" readings of the angle sensor. There are a total of three readings for pitch and three readings for roll. The readings are labeled as follows:
"Value"
"Unfiltered"
"Raw"
Record the "Raw" "Pitch" and "Roll" values.Angle Sensor Pitch ____________________Angle Sensor Roll ____________________
Using a calibrated digital level, place the digital level on the machine to measure the machine pitch accurately. Record the digital level value for pitch. Ensure that the sign of the value is correct based on the instructions for reading the digital level.Machine Pitch ____________________

Calculate the Pitch Offset using the following formula:Ptich Offset = (Machine Pitch) - (Angle Sensor Pitch)Pitch Offset ____________________
Calculate the Roll Offset using the following formula:Roll Offset = (Machine Roll) - (Angle Sensor Roll)Example:Machine Roll: -2Angle Sensor Roll: -3Roll Offset = (-2) - (-3)Roll Offset = 1Roll Offset ____________________Entering the Sensor Offsets
Illustration 16 g03382669
In the MCU select Machine > Sensors. The relevant "Use <sensor name> Sensor" settings appear in the right-hand pane.
Enter the calculated Pitch Offset into the "Offset" field of the "Pitch Sensor Offset" setting.
Enter the calculated Roll Offset into the "Offset" field of the "Use Roll Sensor" setting.
Select "File".
Select "Send to Cat MineStar".
Restart the on-board software.Programming and Calibrating Sensors on Dual Antenna Machines
The pitch and roll of a dual antenna machine is observed using a sensor. Calibrate the sensor as part of the excavator Calibration Wizard when calibrating the whole machine.ReferenceSpecial Instruction, REHS4698, "Installation of Cat® Terrain for Excavators", "Calibration Overview".Checking Measure-up and Calibration
The calibration data for single antenna and dual antenna machines must be checked after the initial calibration. The check will show that the measure up is correct and that the sensor, if used, has been calibrated properly. In some instances recalibration may be required. These instructions are for installers and apply to dozers, loaders, surface miners and terrain levelers, with or without sensors attached.
Position Debug - Opens the "Positions" window
Menu - Opens the main menu To check
