Removal Procedure
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all harness assemblies, and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses, and tubes. This helps to prevent fluid loss and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Remove bolts (1), bolts (3), and cover assembly (2) .
Remove bolts (4) and cover assembly (5) .

Slide boot (6) backward on the cable assemblies.

Remove nut (8) and disconnect cable assemblies (7) and (9) .

Remove bolt (11) and disconnect grounding strap (10) .

Remove nuts (12) and electric starting motor (13) .Installation Procedure
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

Install electrical starting motor (13) and nuts (12) .

Connect grounding strap (10) and install bolt (11). Tighten bolt (11) to a torque of 3.5 1.0 N m (31 9 lb in).

Connect cable assemblies (9) and (7). Install nut (8). Tighten nut (8) to a torque of 11 1 N m (97 9 lb in).

Reposition boot (6) over the nut.

Install cover assembly (5) and bolts (4) .
Install cover assembly (2), bolts (3), and bolts (1) .
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.
