Move the machine to a hard level surface away from operating machines and away from personnel.
Engage the parking brake. Place wheel blocks in front of the wheels and behind the wheels.
Install the lift arm support pins. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lift Arm Support Pins".
Stop the engine.
Install the steering frame lock. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Steering Frame Lock".
Release the pressure from the hydraulic system. Refer to Systems Operation, Testing & Adjusting, "System Pressure - Release".Test Procedure

Remove cover (3).

Remove ride control relief valve (2).
Install ride control relief valve (2) into Tooling (C). Refer to Table 2 for the correct tightening torque.
Apply oil pressure to Tooling (C) until the relief valve opens.
Record the pressure on the pressure gauge. Refer to Table 1 for the correct pressure setting.
Release the pressure in Tooling (C).
If the pressure setting is incorrect, continue with "Adjustment Procedure".
If the pressure setting is correct, remove ride control relief valve (2) from Tooling (C).

Install ride control relief valve (2). Refer to Table 2 for the correct tightening torque.

Install cover (3).
Remove the lift arm support pins. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lift Arm Support Pins".
Remove the steering frame lock. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Steering Frame Lock".Adjustment Procedure

(1) Locking nut
(2) Ride control relief valve
(4) Adjusting screw
Loosen locknut (1) on ride control relief valve (2). Turn adjusting screw (4) clockwise to increase the pressure. Turn adjusting screw (4) counterclockwise to decrease the pressure.
Tighten locknut (1). Refer to Table 2 for the correct tightening torque.
Recheck the pressure setting.
