Introduction
The problem that is identified below requires an update to the Service Manual. Use the information in this Technical Information Bulletin until the Service Manual is updated.Problem
The Service Manual, RENR6475, "Disassembly and Assembly" for the above Backhoe Loaders does not have the correct procedure for installation of the brake piston and brake discs. Incorrect assembly of these parts may cause overheating of the brakes and accelerated wear of the brake disc.Solution
Use the procedures that are listed below in conjunction with the Disassembly and Assembly instructions in order to install the brake pistons and discs properly.Brake Piston

Ensure that the piston (1) is installed all the way to the bottom of the brake cylinder (2) as the piston (1) is being installed into the brake cylinder (2). The piston should be tapped with a rubber mallet in order to ensure that the piston is properly positioned to the bottom of the brake cylinder.Brake Disc

Ensure that holes in each brake disc align with the corresponding brake disc. Proper alignment of the holes in the brake discs is critical for the sufficient flow of oil.
