CHARGING ALTERNATOR 3Y4141 - Caterpillar

1. Remove two bolts (1) and disconnect tachometer drive cable (2).2. Disconnect wiring harness (3) from glow plugs and the water temperature sending unit (not shown).3. Put identification on the fuel injection lines as to their location on the fuel injection pumps and valves.4. Disconnect the fuel injection lines from the fuel injection pumps. Put protection caps on the lines and pumps to keep dirt and foreign material out of the fuel system. 5. Disconnect the fuel injection lines from valve cover base adapters (4). Put protection caps on the adapters and lines.6. Remove fuel injection lines (5).Install Fuel Injection Lines
1. Make sure the fuel injection lines are clean and dry. 2. Put the fuel injection lines (1) in position on the engine and connect them to their respective fuel injection pumps and valve cover base adapters.3. Tighten the nuts on the fuel injection lines to a torque of 30 5 lb.ft. (40 7 N m). 4. Connect wiring harness (4) to the valve cover bases and to the water temperature sending unit.5. Install bolts (2). Connect tachometer drive cable (3).6. Remove (bleed) the air from the fuel system.
