2G4553 Thrust Plate (1) is the service replacement for 8D3844 Thrust Plate (2). When 2G4553 Thrust Plate is installed, two holes must be added to final drive cover (3). (1) Drain the oil from the final drive. See the Lubrication and Maintenance Guide. Remove final drive cover (1). Remove old thrust plate (2) from the final drive cover. (2) Drill two holes (A) in final drive cover (1) .323" Ø (8.1 Ø), 1.0" (25.4) deep; make threads .69" (17.5) deep with a 3/8"-16 tap. Fasten the new thrust plate to the final drive cover with four 8D3883 Bolts. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 25 5 lb. ft. (34 6.8). Install the final drive cover on the machine. Fill the final drive with oil and check for leaks.
