Location of the Magnetic ScreenThe magnetic screen is fastened to the left side of the transmission case. All oil that is drawn from the reservoir of the output transfer gear case flows through the magnetic screen before flowing to the transmission oil pump.

Internal Components of the Magnetic Screen (1) Metal screen (2) Magnetic screen tube assembly (3) Oil inlet (4) Magnets (5) Oil outletThe magnetic screen has a metal screen (1) and magnetic screen tube assembly (2). Oil enters the magnetic screen tube assembly through oil inlet (3). The oil flows through the center of the magnetic screen tube assembly. The oil then flows through holes in the tube which are between magnets (4). The magnets are installed on the tube with the same magnetic ends next to each other. As the oil flows over the magnets, metal particles are stopped and held by the magnets. The oil then flows through oil outlet (5) to the transmission oil pump. Metal screen (1) will remove any remaining debris that is still in the oil.
