View of Area C (3) Coupler frame (red line) (4) Mounting bracket pin (yellow line) (5) Hook (blue line)A maximum of 10 mm (0.4 inch) of material can be removed from coupler frame (red lines) (3) and hook (blue lines) (5) in order for the hammer mounting bracket pin (yellow lines) (4) to enter the coupler opening. Ensure a smooth transition when removing material from coupler frame (3) and hook (5) in order to prevent stress risers.If more than 10 mm (0.4 inch) of material needs to be removed in order for pin (4) of mounting bracket (1) to fit in coupler frame (3), there are likely other issues causing the interference. Verify that the pin spread on the bracket is within the allowable pin spread range for the coupler. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU8471, "Center-Lock Pin Grabber Coupler". If the bracket pin spread is within the acceptable range and further assistance is needed in order to determine what is causing the interference issue, contact the TC to have a DSN ticket submitted and escalated to Tier 2, Cat Work Tools for assistance in troubleshooting what other issues that may be causing the interference.
