The piston bolt may work loose on certain hydraulic cylinders on the blade tip function because of inconsistent use of sealant.Solution

(A) Cylinder group part number (B) Engineering change (C) Month/Day/Year (D) Facility CodeA process change has been made to include an inspection procedure to monitor the application of sealant to the bolt that holds the piston to the rod.Reference the date code information on the cylinder. Cylinders that have been manufactured on 05/04/13 or later, have been manufactured using the improved process. On cylinders manufactured prior to 05/04/13 and the bolt has loosened, apply Loctite 271 to the bolt onto half of the circumference of the engaging threads. Wipe off any excess Loctite 271 from the end of the rod.
