R250 selector switchNote: Selector switch positions 7 and 8 are not used on Caterpillar generator sets.The knee frequency is a selectable parameter in the R250 AVR. If the output frequency of the generator drops below the threshold of the knee frequency that is selected, the output voltage of the generator will decrease. Use Table 1 in order to select the desired knee frequency.

Care must be taken to correctly select the switch position with respect to the nominal generator set operating frequency. If the nominal generator set frequency is 50 Hz, only the positions 9 and 0 must be selected. If the nominal generator set frequency is 60 Hz, only the positions 6 and 3 must be selected. The generator may be damaged when the selector switch is incorrect.
