Separate the track.

Fasten a suitable lifting device to front idler (1). Attach Tooling (A) to the suitable lifting device in order to move front idler (1) and the recoil spring partially out of the track roller frame.

Once front idler (1) and the recoil spring are partially out of the track frame, reposition the suitable lifting device in order to support the recoil spring and the front idler. Use Tooling (A) in order to pull the front idler and the recoil spring out of the track roller frame as one unit. The weight of the unit is approximately 1295 kg (2855 lb).

Turn front idler (1) and recoil spring (3) around 180 degrees. Leave the suitable lifting device attached and install the front idler partially into the track frame. Leave bolts (2) exposed. The front idler (1) and recoil spring (3) will be supported by the track frame.

Reposition the suitable lifting device in order to support recoil spring (3). Remove bolts (2). Separate recoil spring (3) from front idler (1). The weight of recoil spring (3) is approximately 640 kg (1411 lb). Front idler (1) will be supported by the track frame.

Attach two suitable lifting devices to front idler (1). Remove front idler (1) from the track roller frame. The weight of front idler (1) is approximately 693 kg (1528 lb). Installation Procedure
Check the mating surfaces of the front idler and the recoil spring and ensure that the surfaces are clean and free of dirt and debris prior to reassembly.

Attach two suitable lifting devices to front idler (1). Install front idler (1) in the track roller frame. The weight of front idler (1) is approximately 693 kg (1528 lb).

Use a suitable lifting device in order to position recoil spring (3) against the bearings on front idler (1). Install bolts (2). Tighten bolts (2) to a torque of 540 70 N m (400 50 lb ft). The weight of recoil spring (3) is approximately 640 kg (1411 lb).

Fasten three suitable lifting devices to front idler (1) and recoil spring (3).

Turn the front idler and the recoil spring around 180 degrees. The weight of the unit is approximately 1295 kg (2855 lb).
Slide the front idler and the recoil spring partially into the track roller frame. The suitable lifting device on the recoil spring will need to be readjusted in order to completely install the front idler and the recoil spring into the track roller frame.
Use a suitable pushing device in order to slide the recoil spring and the front idler into the track roller frame. End By:
