Typical exampleMechanical unit injector (MUI)Mechanical unit injectors are used on some of the 3116 and 3126 Engines. Refer to Illustration 1. The fuel rack cannot be moved by hand on all injectors. In order to move the rack, the pin that is located in the injector must be moved by mechanical force, and the tappet spring must be compressed.
