Description of Change: Oil mist detector groups are available as production options on these engines. These groups monitor the amount of oil mist in the engine crankcase. The oil mist detector groups can provide an alarm and the oil mist detector groups can shut down the engine if the concentration of oil mist in the crankcase is excessive.The oil mist detector groups include the detector and the associated hardware that is required to pull the sampled crankcase air through the detector. Drain groups are also available to direct condensed oil mist (oil) from the detector into a collection box.Adaptable To: The table identifies the oil mist detector groups and the oil mist detector drain groups.Note: None of the groups that are identified in the table are available for parts service at the group level. The individual components of the groups must be ordered separately. The Service Information System (SIS) can identify the individual components of the groups.
