Information:
Adjust
1. Open the left side engine compartment access door.2. Observe the condition of the belt.3. Measure the belt deflection. Apply approximately 110 N (25 lb) of force midway between the pulleys. Deflection should be 13 to 19 mm (.50 to .75 in). To Adjust: 4. Loosen two bolts and slide the adjusting pulley out to obtain the correct deflection.5. Close the engine compartment access door.Tracks
Adjust
Never visually inspect the fill and relief valve to see if grease or oil is coming out of it. Make sure the vent hole in the valve is clean before tension is released on the track. Watch the cylinder to see that it moves. Loosen the fill and relief valve 1 turn only. The track adjustment procedure must be performed under the same conditions in which the machine is used. Packing must NOT be removed from the track, if packing conditions exist on the job. Do NOT force packing material from between the track parts during track adjustment.
1. Move the machine a distance of two times its length. Slowly bring the machine to a STOP. Shut off the engine. 2. Remove the cover for the track adjusting mechanism.3. Add grease with a grease gun to move the idler forward until the track is fully tight. 4. Use a straight edge against face (1) and make a mark on the rod with a pencil or marking pen even with face (1). 5. Mark the rod 10 mm (.40 in) toward the idler from the first mark.6. Open the relief valve and let the idler move back until the second mark is behind face (1). Close the relief valve.7. Use the grease gun and move the idler forward until the second mark is even with face (1).8. Install the cover and tighten the bolts to a torque of 75 15 N m (55.50 11 lb ft).9. Repeat steps 2 and 8 on the other track.Track Shoe Bolt Torque
The torque requirement for track shoe bolts is 170 40 N m (120 30 lb ft) plus an extra 1/3 turn (120 degrees). For split master link bolts, torque to 170 40 N m (120 30 lb ft) plus an extra 1/2 turn (180 degrees).Recoil Piston
Lubricate
1. Remove the plug in the track roller frame. 2. Connect a grease gun to the fitting in the opening and lubricate.3. Install the plug in the track roller frame.Air Conditioner (If Equipped)
Test Operation/Adjust Belt
Inhaling refrigerant through a lit cigarette or other smoking method or inhaling fumes released from a flame contacting refrigerant can cause bodily harm or death. Do not smoke when servicing air conditioners or wherever refrigerant may be present.
1. Start the engine. Operate the engine at HIGH IDLE. 2. Set the air conditioner control for maximum cooling, and fan control on EXTREME CONDITION speed.3. Allow two minutes for the air conditioning system to stabilize.4. Check for refrigerant in the system as follows: Feel the suction line and the discharge line.If the system contains refrigerant, the discharge
