Remove & Install Turbocharger
1. Remove the wastegate if so equipped.2. Disconnect oil supply tube assembly (1) from the turbocharger.3. Disconnect oil drain tube assembly (2) from the turbocharger.4. Loosen clamp (3).5. Remove four locknuts (4), the turbocharger and gasket from the exhaust manifold. 6. Remove bolts (5) and (6). Remove the compressor and turbine housings. The following steps are for the installation of the turbocharger.7. Position the turbine and compressor housings. Apply 5P3931 Anti-Seize Compound on bolts (5), and install them. Tighten bolts (5) for the compressor housing to a torque of 7.3 .6 N m (65 5 lb in). Tighten bolts (6) for the turbine housing to a torque of 15.8 .6 N m (140 5 lb in).8. Check the condition of the gasket used between the turbocharger and the exhaust manifold. If the gasket is damaged, use a new part for replacements.9. Apply 5P3931 Anti-Seize Compound on the threads of the turbocharger mounting studs.10. Put the gasket and turbocharger in position on the exhaust manifold. Install four locknuts (4) that hold it. Tighten the locknuts to a torque of 54 5 N m (40 4 lb ft).11. Tighten clamp (3).12. Check the condition of the gaskets used between the turbocharger and the oil supply and drain tube assemblies. If the gaskets are damaged, use new parts for replacement.13. Connect oil drain tube assembly (2) and oil supply tube assembly (1) to the turbocharger.14. Install the wastegate if so equipped.
