Introduction
This Special Instruction provides the necessary parts and the necessary information for installing a 166-6681 Wheel Cylinder Assembly . The 166-6681 Wheel Cylinder Assembly includes the piston and the seals. Remove the piston (4) from the cylinder (2) .
Use a cleaner/degreaser in order to clean the piston (4), the cylinder bore, and the ports (1).
Use a silicon lubricant in order to lubricate the seals (3).

Install the seals (5) onto the piston, as shown.
Apply a light coat of silicon lubricant to the seals (5) and to the inside of the cylinder bore (4) .Note: Do not apply excessive amounts of lubricant to the seals (5) or to the cylinder bore (4). Do not apply lubricant to the inside of the ports (1) .
Install the piston into the cylinder, as shown.Procedure for Installing the Wheel Cylinder Assembly
Use quick cure primer in order to clean the cylinder threads. Use quick cure primer in order to clean the threads in the spider assembly.
Ensure that the threads are clean and that the threads are dry.
Apply a thin layer of thread lock compound approximately 10 mm (0.39 inch) wide onto the cylinder threads (location B to C). Apply a thin layer of thread lock compound onto the threads in the spider assembly.
Install the cylinder into the spider and hand tighten the cylinder. The cylinder should bottom out.
Unscrew the cylinder by a minimum amount in order to position either of the ports (1) to the top of the unit.
Install the brake purging screw in the top port in order to completely bleed air from the system.
Install the brake line in the lower port.
Do not disturb the parts for a minimum of one hour in order to allow the thread lock compound to cure.
