The battery disconnect switch and the secondary disconnect switch must be in the ON position.
Close the cab door. Operating mode switch (1) must be in the NEUTRAL position. Boom switch (2) must be in the OFF position.

Press switch (3) for cold weather starting. Hold this switch for five seconds. Release the switch.
Press the accelerator pedal for three quarters of the travel. Turn the ignition key clockwise into the start position (6) .
Release the ignition key as soon as the engine starts. Do not allow the engine to run faster than 900 rpm for the first twenty seconds.
If the engine does not start, wait for twenty seconds and try again. Do not attempt to start the engine if the starter motor is still turning.
If the engine runs rough or if the engine expels white smoke from the exhaust, continue to press the switch (3) .
